Who We Are
I'm Ashley, owner and only employee of Creative Impressions. I've lived in Brookings, SD for the past 17 years. I am a mother of two boys. I love spending time with them.
Whatever your creative need, I want to help you create lasting images and experiences. Services include but are not limited to Paints & Pints events, murals, canvas paintings, face painting, and party planning.
So I do lots of painting. I've always made creations after being disappointed in not finding what I've wanted in stores. Nothing irritates me more. With that said, I offer free consultations for projects and events. I want to create that something special just for you that can't be found. I want you to be able to express that idea or have something for that certain space that leaves you and others thinking WOW.
In addition I make pieces from off the cuff of inspiration. I have a passion for color that can be seen in my work. I love to let my emotions and spirit flow on to the canvas.
If you want to create something yourself, Paints & Pints events are an experience not to miss. I'm an odd artist in that I like the company of people. I enjoy teaching and share the joy that art has brought to my life. "I don't have an artistic bone in my body." Sure you do. I can help. Step by step, I will guide you through the process of creating a work of art. Paints & Pints events can be booked for a private event.
Speaking of events, I consider events live artworks. Planning, decorating, and all other planning activities I do. One of my favorite parties to plan is children's birthday parties. They are a blast and full of energy! In addition to planning and decorating events, I also offer face painting and canvas painting activities.
I have always LOVED creating art workings. My mom remembers me being obsessed with Bob Ross from a very early age. When I say early, I mean still in diapers kind of early. Must have sunk into my subconscious. In Kindergarden, I won a honorable mention in a K-12 grade art contest. So my public art adventure began. I took various art courses in grade school through college.
Creative Impressions started 10 years ago when I, a girl who enjoyed picking up art gigs on the side, decided to obtain a business tax ID to be legit. I found myself creating murals on business' windows, murals in children's rooms, painting glass stemware, painting canvas, face painting and planning events. It was always a side adventure.
After indecisive years of deciding if the entrepreneurial path was something I really wanted to do, I made the decision to dive in. I have a passion for creating both experiences and pieces that leave lasting impressions with my clients. I’ve had the opportunity to impact the lives of many individuals through my artist and creative expressions. I look forward to future creative endeavors!
